Functional handles – centralized, multifunctional one-hand machine operation
In Industry 4.0, flexible components for machine operation are becoming increasingly important. When it comes to machine control, it is very important to make the operation of machines and processes as simple as possible. One of the major challenges is to simplify the complexity for the operator. During development, machine manufacturers have to think about how a wide range of user interventions and their user guidance can be implemented intelligently.
New multi-variant functional handles for machine operation from Schrempp electronic GmbH are made entirely of aluminum. The aluminum profile was specially designed for the installation of electronic function units. Simple modular integration of pushbuttons with feedback LED ring and signal surface is possible via a wide range of products. The function handles without connection to IO-Link are equipped with two integrated electronic debounced push-buttons with short-circuit-proof output drivers (0.8A). The seamless integration of buttons and signal surfaces directly into the robust machine handles enables direct and fast one-handed operation. This concept allows new sequences, combinations and speeds for machine control.
Smart IO-Link-capable function handles with integration of push-button, feedback LED ring and signal surfaces to this communication system can also be flexibly configured during operation. The operating buttons can be configured as push-buttons or switches or the push-button element can be disabled during operation. The illuminated area can be configured with IO-Link devices in 24-bit colors, brightness and free flashing and flash sequences (pulse/pause time). The machine operator can communicate intuitively with the machine using the intelligent function handle. Adjustments to specific configurations are possible at any time, making processes faster and work more efficient and safer.
The power supply of 24V DC is provided at the rear via a 5-pole cable with a length of 5m or an M8 plug.
